What to do in Kuressaare, Saaremaa?

 

It is pleasant to walk and bike in Kuressaare as the town has become especially beautiful in the recent years, especially the beach promenade which is great for romantic walks. A new golf course opend in summer. On a plot used upon a rental contract an 18-hole champion-type course will be built. Kuressaare City Park offers different entertainment possibilities. In the middle of the park there is the Kuressaare Bishop Fortress, now Museum of Saaremaa. In the court of the Fortress there are bowing facilities, to have a look at historical handicraft galleries. Water wheels/bicycles and rowing boats are available in the moat of the fortress and in the Kuressaare Yacht Port.

 

Kuressaare Health Park is located in a 36-hectare forest grove. The two-kilometre and the 1.5-kilometre health trail can be used free of charge. In summer running and hiking trails can be used, in winter the skating-rink and lighted ski slopes. Read more
